Uwe Schneider, born in 1965, studied Literature, Medieval Studies and Philosophy at the Ludwig-Maximilian-Universität München. From 1993 to 2002, he taught and worked at the Technical University of Dresden at the Institute for German Literature. During that period he published cultural studies and editions of literary works, he also worked on databases and exhibition projects.
The following years, Uwe Schneider worked as a journalist and music critic for the Sächsische Zeitung, klassik.com, Orpheus International, Crescendo, musicweb international etc. He wrote program notes among other things for the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and the North German Radio (NDR), for which he also worked as a concert dramaturg. From 2006 to 2007 he worked as PR and Marketing Director for the Forum Tiberius in Dresden, where he also collected experience in the field of cultural management.
From 2007 until February 2012 he was Mediendaramaturg and and personal assistant to the Managing Director of the Staatsoperette Dresden. Here he also designed and organized scientific conferences. Since March 2012, Uwe Schneider is working with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin.
