Gergely Bodoky was born in Budapest in 1973. He studied with Paul Meisen and András Adorján in Munich, took master classes with Aurèle Nicolet and completed additional studies (transverse flute/historical performance practice) with Benedek Csalog in Leipzig and Christoph Huntgeburth in Berlin from 2000 to 2002.

Gergely Bodoky has won prizes at international competitions such as the ARD Music Competition in Munich, the Kobe International Flute Competition and the Prague Spring. After a year as principal flutist with the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra in 1998, he moved to the same position with the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin. Gergely Bodoky is a founding member of the Sheridan Ensemble.
