G.F. Händel

Dixit Dominus, Laudate pueri, Nisi Dominus

Handel composed these three wonderful sacred works during his youth in Rome, where he stayed from 1707 to 1710. The Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and the RIAS Chamber Choir offer a highly vivid and colorful interpretation of this music, in which the composer’s talent is already evident: fidelity to traditional forms, perfect mastery of counterpoint, and, even at this early stage, a unique sense for storytelling. Everything here gives a glimpse of genius.
