Uwe Schneider
Uwe Schneider studied literary studies, medieval studies, and philosophy at LMU Munich. From 1993 to 2002, he taught and conducted research at TU Dresden as a research associate at the Institute for Modern German Literature. During this time, he produced publications in cultural studies, critical editions, database projects, and exhibition projects. He was also continuously involved in academic organizational work.
Afterwards, Uwe Schneider worked as a journalist and music critic, including for the Sächsische Zeitung and various specialist publications. He wrote program booklets, among others, for the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and for NDR, where he also served as a concert dramaturge. From 2006 to 2007, he headed public relations and marketing at the Dresdner Forum Tiberius, gaining experience in cultural management.
From 2007 until February 2012, Uwe Schneider served as media dramaturge and personal advisor to the artistic director at the Staatsoperette Dresden. In addition, he regularly curated scholarly conferences for the institution.
Since March 2012, Uwe Schneider has been with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, and since March 2015 he has served as its manager. His work is characterized by a spirit of discovery and a dramaturgically informed approach. In addition to the intensive cultivation and development of the ensemble’s core repertoire in the Baroque and Viennese Classical periods, he has thoughtfully expanded the repertoire into the 19th century.
Linus Bickmann
Linus Bickmann was born in East Westphalia, where he discovered his love for classical music as an organ student at Paderborn Cathedral.
He studied music and theatre studies as well as literary studies at the University of Bayreuth, the Università Ca’ Foscari in Venice, and Freie Universität Berlin. From 2012 until mid‑2015, he worked for the Lautten Compagney Berlin, first as a project manager and later as the ensemble’s music dramaturge.
Within the field of early music, his great interest lies particularly in Baroque opera. His research on the genre of opera parody took him to Rome in 2010 as a scholarship holder at the Musicology Department of the German Historical Institute.
He gained diverse experience in cultural management through internships, including in the orchestra office of the Komische Oper Berlin.
He has been working with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin since June 2015.
Viola Eckert
Viola Eckert has been working as Operations Manager for the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin since May 2025.
From 2017 to 2021, she had already been part of the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin as a project manager.
