Laure Mourot
Traverse flute
Laure Mourot is a versatile flutist. Born in France, she initially studied modern transverse flute at the Conservatoire de Rueil-Malmaison in Paris and later in Berlin at the Hanns Eisler School of Music. She subsequently devoted herself to the study of the Baroque flute (traverso) at the Berlin University of the Arts in the class of Christoph Huntgeburth.
Her repertoire spans a wide range, from early music to contemporary music. She performs in various chamber music ensembles as well as in symphony and chamber orchestras, playing both historical and modern flutes. She has appeared as a guest with, among others, the Orchestre de l’Opéra national de Lorraine, Les Siècles, the Zafraan Ensemble, the Kammerakademie Potsdam, and the Lautten Compagney Berlin. Laure Mourot is also a founding member of the genre-defying Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra.
Sharing her enthusiasm for music-making with the next generation of musicians is an important aspect of her work. She teaches traverso as well as early music for woodwind players and chamber music at the Lübeck University of Music. In addition, she works as a modern flute teacher at the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Music High School in Berlin.
